Limerick minor football side to face Waterford in Munster championship named

THE Limerick minor football team to face Waterford in Round 3 of the Munster championship on Monday evening at Mick Neville Park in Rathkeale, 7pm throw-in, has been named.

Limerick lost out to Clare in their opening Phase 1 round robin fixture before bouncing back to defeat Tipperary 2-14 to 1-12 in their second game.

A win or draw for Limerick  on Monday evening will see the Shannonsiders progress through to the Munster semi-finals.

A victory would also see Limerick advance into the phase one final of the Munster championship where they are likely to face Clare.

The winners of the phase one final will meet the loser of the Munster MFC quarter-final between Cork and Kerry in a Munster semi-final.

The loser of the phase one final will take on the winner of Cork and Kerry game in the other Munster semi-final.

Monday night's opponents Waterford have lost both of their round robin games to date.
