IT'S DO or die time for South Liberties tonight when they face a must-win game with Garryspillane in Adare on this Thursday evening.

Nothing other than a victory will see Brian Foley's side drop down to the Premier IHC for 2024 in their final Group Two game of the Bon Secours Limerick SHC.

Liberties have lost all four games so far in the championship, while Garryspilane come into the game knowing that a draw will be enough to secure senior status for another year.

The Bouncers will be disappointed to find themselves in this position heading into tonight's game having been so close to victory in several of their 2023 championship outings. However, a draw against table toppers Mungret St Paul's is all they have to show for some promising outings.

Liberties' big issue in the championship has been the concession of 15 goals from their four games and they currently sit with a -60 scoring aggregate.

Foley's cause hasn't been helped with the unavailability of a large proportion of the panel that reached the SHC semi-finals last year but they are able to call on the talents of Limerick star Barry Nash for the crucial fixture.

Garryspillane have been guilty of conceding goals as well (11) but have managed to score nine at the other end. Colin Ryan has been sparkling form up front since his move from the Bouncers defence and his free-taking prowess could be key this evening.

The game has a 7.30pm start in Adare and is being streamed live by Limerick GAA.
