THE THOUSANDS heading to Cappamore Show on Saturday can leave their rain wellies at home but don’t forget the sun cream as patrons are set to bask in sunshine.
Children in the accompanying photo with the Hollywood-esque sign will have to water the plants! Met Eireann is forecasting warm and settled weather with temperatures in the low to mid-twenties.

The very best of cattle, horses, ponies, horticulture, arts, crafts, baking, an array of children’s entertainments, food, cookery demonstrations, business stands, Green Village, live music, dancing, bonny baby, and lots more awaits attendees.
John Hassett, who will be double-jobbing as show secretary and owner of the showgrounds in Ballyvoreen, said weather and ground conditions are key to any outdoor event.
Organisers of the 69th Cappamore Show are set fair on both counts.
“There is a great buzz locally with huge interest from the public. All the sub-committees have a huge amount of work done. Success breeds success and after every good show each section wants to go to the next level for next year,” said John.
Every year he looks forward to peeping out at dawn on the morning of the show and take in the stillness of the site.
“It’s extraordinary to see the finished product before the excitement begins. From the top to bottom of the field there is something for all the family on show day,” said John.
The secretary said patrons come to Cappamore Show for many reasons.
“What I like about it is that people that have never been that close to rural life can get up close to it and it's beautiful,” said John.
All are welcome - including first-timers - to see for themselves. This year's show raffle is in support of East Limerick Red Cross who ensure everybody is safe and sound.
