THE Hillside Players raise the curtain this week, for their 28th production with their latest play Frozen Assets a two-act comedy by Tom Casling opening Thursday, January 30 and running until Sunday, February 2 and again the following week February 6-9 at 8pm sharp in the Ardpatrick Community Centre.
The well-known drama group welcome back an amazing cast of Eanna Quish, Pat O’Dwyer, Tom Murphy, Ciara Moloney, Pa Ahern, Annette Crowley, Hannah Goggin, Ann Marie Kennedy, and Gareth Beechnior and is directed by John Shanahan.
The play is set in the present day where Brenda Middleditch is a thoughtful mother and has planned for every eventuality. Peter, her son, is not. He is a chancer, takes risks and has had a few brushes with the law in his younger life. Peter has now reformed. He is older, wiser, married to Claire and about to have a son. He is also heir to €50,000 should his mother’s insurance policy pay out on her 65th birthday. Unfortunately Brenda dies three days too soon. Come along and bear witness to the surprising and comical turn of events following the discovery of Brenda ….. ‘what could possibly go wrong!’
