“National Tree Week is a wonderful opportunity for communities to come together and make huge progress in our ambitions to see many thousands of trees planted all across Limerick throughout the lifecycle of this Council. By planting new trees and encouraging people of all ages to get involved, we are taking more meaningful steps toward ‘Greening Limerick’,” said Mayor of Limerick John Moran.
“I’m really happy to see schools, businesses and community groups across Limerick embracing this initiative. I encourage anyone that can to pick up a free sapling and play their own small part in nurturing a greener Limerick. Don’t forget to add them to our counter on trees.limerick.ie”
Príomh Chomhairleoir at Limerick City and County Council, Cllr Catherine Slattery added: “National Tree Week is a brilliant chance for communities to come together and celebrate the trees that make Limerick greener, healthier, and more vibrant. Trees bring people together - whether through local planting events, shared green spaces, or educational initiatives.
