Employment and education opportunities will be available at the first Limerick Skills Fair
OVER 30 employers, educational bodies, and agencies will be in attendance at the Northside Skills Fair this afternoon to offer information around a wide range of opportunities available in the Mid-West region.
The Skills Fair will allow attendees to engage with employers or learn more about the apprenticeship and training pathways in your area. This is a unique opportunity for communities to connect with local opportunities available in their area.
This forms part of the overall strategy within the Outreach to Employment Programme which is led by Limerick City and County Council in partnership with Limerick & Clare Education & Training Board (LCETB) Technological University of the Shannon (TUS) and Limerick Enterprise Development Partnership (LEDP).

The Mayor of Limerick, John Moran is delighted to see the wide range of stands at the Skills Fair: “The Outreach to Employment Programme has been a welcome addition in recent years. The Skills Fair forms a large part of this. The buy-in from educational bodies as well as local employers is fantastic to see and there is such a variety available for those looking to progress their career. There is also a focus on apprenticeships and training pathways at this event, which can only benefit the workforce in Limerick. However, the real key to the success of ventures like this is participation by the community and those looking to follow new opportunities in life. I encourage all to participate and to pass information on to others about the initiative.”
Cathaoirleach Metropolitan District of Limerick, Cllr. Kieran O’ Hanlon added: “The Outreach to Employment Programme is such a valuable initiative, with the Skills Fair playing a key role in its success. It is inspiring to see such strong support from educational institutions and local employers. This Fair connects job seekers with employers and also ensures residents in Regeneration areas have access to valuable resources for career progression.”
Acting Director of Regeneration, Sports and Recreation at Limerick City and County Council, Declan White said: “The first Skills Fair of 2025 is a fantastic opportunity for so many to engage with local employers as well as third level and other training bodies. To have this within the Regeneration area is further endorsement of our commitment to the Outreach to Employment Programme, one that we have seen success in through the Jobs Fair’s and the Junior Careers Fair.”
The fair takes place at the Northside Youth Space, Limerick Youth Services, Ballynanty, Limerick, V94 TP33, today, Wednesday, April 30 from 12pm-3pm .
