Minister for the Environment, Climate and Communications, Darragh O'Brien announced the funds
TWO Limerick community groups have been awarded €10,000 each in grants as part of a new climate-focused government scheme.
Kilcornan Community Council and Killeedy Eco Park Group have been chosen among 96 groups across Ireland to receive monetary support by Minister for the Environment, Climate and Communications, Darragh O'Brien, who allocated €500,000 worth of grants for community climate engagement initiatives.
The funding will go towards a series of workshops and biodiversity hubs, with around 30,000 people expected to benefit nationally.

Minister of State at the Department of Justice, Niall Collins TD welcomed the news, saying: "The funding has been awarded to go towards a series of workshops and micro interventions to engage people from across the entire community of Kilcornan on climate. These workshops plan to collect opinions, ideas and develop potential actions for positive climate action within Kilcornan.
