Gardai to prepare file for coroner following death of University of Limerick student

AN GARDA Síochána are to prepare a file for the local coroner following the death of a University of Limerick (UL) student.

The body of the male, aged in his late teens, was discovered at a premises in Castletroy this Wednesday morning.

Gardai have confirmed that having been alerted to the discovery, they arrived at the scene at approximately 9.40am.

After the student was pronounced dead, his body was conveyed to the mortuary at University Hospital Limerick where a post-mortem will take place at a later time.

While investigations into his death are ongoing, it is understood that gardai do not suspect foul play.

When contacted by Limerick Live, a spokesperson for UL declined to comment.
