Suspects fled when disturbed by Limerick home owner

The incident in Croom, Limerick happened on the morning of July 11
GARDAÍ are appealing for witnesses as opportunistic thieves fled the scene of a house in Croom when the homeowner discovered them.
Sergeant Natasha Walsh of Henry Street garda station told Limerick Live that on the morning on July 11, a man heard noises coming from his kitchen.
“When he investigated, he disturbed two males inside the property. Upon seeing the homeowner, both suspects fled the scene.
“The males are believed to have left the area in a large silver vehicle. Thankfully, the homeowner was not physically injured, but incidents such as these are understandably very distressing and have a lasting impact on victims.”
Sergeant Walsh said that they are appealing to anyone who might have been in the area and saw a large silver vehicle acting suspiciously or who may have CCTV, home security footage or dashcam recordings, to contact gardaí.
She said: “Even information that may seem insignificant could prove crucial to an investigation.”
She added that most criminals are looking for an easy opportunity and that simple steps like securing your home, looking out for neighbours and reporting suspicious activity, can all make a big difference.
