He was charged with Section 15, Section 15 (a) and Section 3 offences contrary to the Misuse of Drugs Act relating to the possession of drugs for sale or supply and simple possession.
Limerick District Court heard that the book of evidence is still being prepared.
In this case, where Mr Keane is remanded in custody, the State must provide the book of evidence within 42 days of the first district court appearance, unless an extension is granted.
Sergeant Aisling O'Neill told Judge Ryan that they are still within this 42-day period and asked for an additional two weeks to ensure the book of evidence is complete.
The judge granted this adjournment and remanded Mr Keane in custody until August 19, where he will appear before Limerick District Court via video-link.
