A Limerick woman has received a conviction for drugs found at her home.

Carina O’Riordan, 41, with a home address at Hyde Road, Limerick, had a search warrant of her home executed by gardaí on February 17, 2025. A small amount of cannabis was found at the property.

Prosecuting Sergeant Jimmy Dillane told Judge Patricia Harney that Ms O’Riordan has 11 previous convictions, including one for the possession of drugs, one for drink driving, two for driving without insurance, one for refusing to give her name and address, two section four thefts, a public order offence and two unauthorised takings of a mechanically propelled vehicle.

Ms O’Riordan’s solicitor told the court that the accused woman is “not the only one at that property”. The court heard that Ms O’Riordan has “come a long way in treatment”.

The sergeant told the court that Ms O’Riordan’s last conviction was in 2012.

Judge Harney stated: “She has to see what way the wind is blowing in terms of people she’s hanging out with.”

The judge convicted and fined Ms O'Riordan €100 for section three drugs possession, and gave her three months to pay the fine.
