Man due to appear before court following arrest over public order incident

AN ARREST has been made in connection with a public order incident in Limerick city.

The incident occurred on O'Connell Street on Wednesday night.

“Gardaí have arrested a male (aged in his 40s) in relation to a public order incident that occurred at O’Connell Street, Limerick City, on Wednesday 16th July 2025, at approximately 9.50pm," a garda spokesperson told Limerick Live this Thursday morning.

"He was conveyed to a garda station in the Limerick area,” they added.

According to gardaí the man has been charged, and was expected to appear before Limerick District Court this Thursday morning, July 17.

“Investigations are ongoing,” concluded the garda spokesperson.
