Gardai appeal for witnesses following aggravated burglary in Limerick city involving knife threat

GARDAI are appealing for witnesses following an aggravated burglary yesterday in Limerick city

GARDAI are appealing for witnesses following an aggravated burglary yesterday in Limerick city at a residential property where the homeowner was confronted with a knife.

The burglary occurred at a residential property in the O’Connell Avenue area, yesterday morning, at approximately 8am. 

A man entered the premises and confronted the homeowner with a knife, before fleeing with a number of items. The homeowner was uninjured.

A technical examination of the scene has been conducted by Gardaí.

Gardaí are appealing for anyone with any information regarding this incident to come forward.
Any road users or pedestrians who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were in the O’Connell Avenue area between 7.45am and 9.15am are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí.
 
Anyone with information is asked to contact Henry Street Garda Station on 061 212400, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda station.

Investigations are ongoing.
