GARDAÍ in Limerick warn that theives are looking for “easy opportunities” following two separate car thefts on the same night.
In the early hours of Thursday, May 22, between midnight and 2am, there was a car theft in Kilmallock and another in Ballysimon about an hour later.
“In both cases, the cars were left unlocked, and unfortunately, some items were taken,” said Sergeant Aoife Bannon, community policing at Henry St garda station.

“We just want to remind everyone, even if your car is in your driveway or on a quiet road, please lock it. Thieves are often just looking for easy opportunities.”
Investigating gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have noticed anything suspicious in the early hours of last Thursday morning, between the hours of 12am to 1am in the Kilmallock or Ballysimon area, to make contact with Kilmallock garda station on 063 98018 or Ballyneety garda station on 061 351102.
