A MAN is being questioned by gardai following a significant drugs seizure in Limerick city.
Gardaí say suspected cocaine, worth an estimated €140,000, was located during a search at a premises in the Englishtown area this Tuesday afternoon.
"As part of ongoing investigations targeting the sale and supply of controlled drugs in the Limerick area, gardaí from the Divisional Drugs Unit in conjunction with a number of regional units executed a search warrant at a residence in the Englishtown area of the city shortly after 3pm," said a spokesperson.
"In the course of the search, gardaí discovered and seized approximately 2kg of cocaine with an estimated street value of €140,000," they added.

Gardai say a man, in his 30s, was arrested at the scene for an offence contrary to Section 15 of the Misuse of Drugs Act 1977/84 and he is currently detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996 at a garda station in the Southern Region.
The drugs seized will be sent to Forensic Science Ireland for analysis.
Investigations are ongoing.
