Man arrested in Limerick after 'considerable amount' of drugs found on his person

GARDAÍ in Limerick arrested a man having found a "considerable quantity" of suspected crack cocaine on his person during a search operation.

As part of ongoing investigations into the sale and supply of controlled drugs in Limerick, members attached to Operation Croí, assisted by Henry Street Community Policing, conducted an operation in Limerick city centre this Wednesday morning.

"One male suspect was stopped and searched and a considerable quantity of individually wrapped deals of suspected crack cocaine was seized from his person," gardaí confirmed.

"The male was arrested and subsequently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984."

However, the man has since been released without charge pending analysis of the suspected drugs and preparation of a file to the DPP for direction.
