GARDAÍ in Limerick issue “very basic crime prevention advice” after a home was entered by thieves through an unlocked window.
A house in Rivers, Castletroy, was left empty on Saturday afternoon, March 15, between 2pm and 5.30pm before being “ransacked”.
“During this short time frame, a total of three and a half hours, the house was believed to have been entered through an unlocked rear window, with the house ransacked,” said Sergeant Michelle O’Halloran, crime prevention officer at Henry St garda station.

“It is very basic crime prevention advice, but do not assume that the windows and doors are secure, check them yourself prior to leaving your home.”
Gardaí at Henry St are appealing to anyone who may have observed any suspicious activity or vehicles in or around the area the day to contact them on 061 212 400.
