BREAKING: Teenager arrested following incident near Limerick’s Hyde Road

A TEENAGER has been arrested following an incident on the outskirts of Limerick city this Thursday afternoon.

According to garda, members of the force who were on patrol in Limerick city responded to an incident of public disorder that occurred on Hyde Avenue at approximately 2:50pm. 

Hyde Avenue is located off Hyde Road on the city’s southside.

“An adult male in his teens was arrested at the scene and is currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at a garda station in Limerick,” said a garda spokesperson.

Footage has been widely shared on social media showing a number of onlookers watching as gardai responded to the incident.

Investigations are ongoing.
