ARMED gardai seized a weapon from a man at a busy junction on the outskirts of the city, Limerick Live has learned.
A garda spokesperson said: “Gardaí were alerted to an incident of a man in possession of an offensive weapon in the Watchhouse Cross area, Limerick city, on Tuesday, December 3 at approximately 12pm.”
Limerick Live understands that the weapon in question is not a firearm.

Gardai say no injuries have been reported "at this time".
“Following the incident the man has since been arrested and charged and was due to appear in Limerick District Court on Wednesday, December 4 2024 at 10.30am.
“As this is now a matter for the Limerick District Court, An Garda Síochána is not in a position to provide further comment,” said a garda spokesperson.
