GARDAI are investigating after a lorry was driven into a home in county Limerick early on Monday morning.
It is being linked to an ongoing feud between Traveller families in Rathkeale which saw a house in the town petrol bombed earlier this month.
A garda spokesperson confirmed that gardaí are investigating an incident of criminal damage that occurred in the Rathkeale area on Monday, October 21. Limerick Live understands it occurred on Main Street.
“Gardaí were alerted to the scene at approximately 6am in which a vehicle had been driven into a residential building.
“No injuries were reported at this time. Investigation is ongoing,” said a garda spokesperson.
They are believed to be linked to the serious incident in Rathkeale in December of 2022 when jeeps were rammed into each other, dangerous driving and public order.
The then Minister for Justice and now Taoiseach, Simon Harris visited the town. He said the scenes, which were widely shared on social media, were “utterly abhorrent”.

Local councillor, John O’Donoghue said these are very worrying developments on the run upto Christmas when traditionally the population of Rathkeale swells.
“It is of concern if things are escalating at this stage. An Garda Siochana have enough to be doing all day, every day. If we are going to start tying up all our resources in Rathkeale over the Christmas, it is going to leave everywhere else in the county very, very tight on garda resources,” said Cllr O’Donoghue.
The Leader understands that gardai are treating this feud very seriously and have increased patrols in the town in recent weeks.
