BREAKING: Gardaí investigate fire in Limerick city housing estate

GARDAÍ are investigating a fire at a house in Garryowen which saw three fire units attend the scene to “bring [it] under control”.

The incident happened at approximately 9:50pm on Sunday, September 22 at a house in Pike Avenue, gardaí have confirmed.

A man in his 30s was taken to University Hospital Limerick for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

Three Limerick Fire and Rescue units tackled the blaze for three hours, departing just after midnight. 

Gardaí are investigating the incident, saying that “the scene has been preserved and a technical examination will take place”.
