Further arrests following fatal assault at home close to Limerick/Tipperary border

GARDAI investigating the fatal assault of a man at a house close to the Limerick/Tipperary border over Christmas have made two further arrests in relation to the incident.

Maciej Nowak, a Polish national aged in his 30s, was found unresponsive at a rented property in Ballycrana, Kilross in the early hours of December 27.

He later died in hospital - sparking a major garda investigation.

One man - Tomasz Rozpeda, aged 27, of no fixed abode - has since been arrested and charged and is currently before the courts.

In an update, issued on Monday night, gardai confirmed that two more men have been arrested in connection with the incident.

The pair, aged in their 30s are both currently detained under section 30 of the Offences against the State Act, 1939 at a garda station in Co. Tipperary.

Investigations are ongoing.
