RITA O’Shaughnessy from Limerick city has won the prestigious Carer of the Year Award at the 2025 Home & Community Care Ireland (HCCI) Home Care Awards.
On selecting the winner, the category’s judge, David Brady of Spry who sponsored the awards said: “The standard of this year’s nominees was truly exceptional. Spry Finance were inspired by the calibre of individuals who have entered the care profession in recent years, many of whom transitioned from other industries.”
David added: “Among this outstanding group, one nominee stood out: Rita from Irish Homecare embodies everything we value in a carer - compassion, professionalism, and a relentless drive to improve.”
“What makes her truly remarkable is how she has embraced continuous learning, pursuing further education to deepen her knowledge and enhance the quality of care she provides.”
