EMLY Community Festival was fittingly launched by a woman who has been at the heart of the community for decades - Peggy McGrath.

She has been involved in Emly Tidy Towns for the past 40 years and celebrated her 90th birthday on the week of the launch in the Co Tipperary village. The festival takes place between July 10 - 14 and its ethos is to ‘leave no one behind’.

The festival logo is linked to the United Nations sustainable goals and the aim in Emly is to ensure that they live in an inclusive, integrated community, who work together to reduce inequality and exclusion for all residents.

Emly Tidy Towns adopted the 17 sustainable goals in 2022 and they have been working with this framework in all their sustainable and climate action activities since then.

See the Emly Community Council Facebook page for a full list of the packed programme of events taking place over the five days.
