Cold case solved: Ice cream van proprietor fined at Limerick court

Local resident called gardai over van's location at public park
A WOMAN was up in court for a parking offence - not a Section '99' matter - after an ice-cream van was observed by gardai parked on double yellow lines at a public amenity.
Leanne Moran, aged 32, of Knockatanna, Caherconlish made no appearance at Limerick District Court when the matter was called by the registrar.
A garda, who gave evidence, said it pertained to an ice-cream van parking on double yellow lines at Mungret Park on Friday, May 10, 2024.
“A fixed charge penalty notice was issued which remains unpaid,” said the garda.
He added that it was in response to a complaint from a local resident in Mungret.
“They said the van parks on double yellow lines and blocks a junction.
“They say it happens every summer,” said the garda.
Judge Patricia Harney fined Ms Moran €150 for parking on double yellow lines at Dromdarrig, Mungret.
