Limerick rugby quartet set for play-off places in the All-Ireland League

FOUR of the seven Limerick senior rugby clubs will be involved in Energia Men’s All Ireland League play-offs ahead of the final round of games next Saturday - Garryowen, Shannon, UL Bohemian and Thomond.
Young Munster aren't one of the quartet into play-offs.
The only local side playing in the top flight, despite their merited 22-20 away win against second place St Mary’s College on Saturday, they cannot make the playoffs, because of Terenure College’s 21-5 home win against Cork Constitution.
Indeed bar an unlikely sequence of results, there could be no Munster side in the top flight semi-finals for the first time.
At Templeville Road, St Mary’s College were 13- 5 ahead at half time but a sterling second half from Young Munster saw them edge to victory.

Jake O’Riordan, Luke McCready and Fionn Gibbons scored the weekend tries for Young Munster while Kelvin Langan kicked two conversions and a penalty.
Munsters will conclude their AIL season on Saturday with the visit of Ballynahinch to Clifford Park.
Garryowen still harbour hopes of joining their city rivals in Division 1A next season.
The Light Blues Garryowen secured their place in the Division 1B promotion play-off with their 68-21 home win against bottom side Queens University.
The home side in Dooradoyle raced 39-0 clear by half time.
Sean Sexton, Tom Ironside Wickham and Brian Fitzgerald each scored two tries, and Finn McCall, Ben Leahy, Lachlan Stewart and Luca Cleary got one apiece.
Stewart kicked nine conversions for the winners.
Garryowen sit in fourth place ahead of Saturday's final game away to UCC.
Shannon are assured of a play-off place in the Division 2A promotion race after defeating leaders MU Barnhall 28-12 on the back pitch in Thomond Park in their final game of the regular season.
They will be in Tipperary to play Cashel in their final round game.
On Saturday, Cian O’Halloran, Jamie Conway, David Smith and Oisin Minogue scored tries for Shannon, while all four were converted by Cillian O’Connor.
Elsewhere in Division 2A, Old Crescent will be involved in the relegation battle.
On Saturday, Cashel defeated the Rosbriens side 47-13 at Takumi Park.
It was Old Crescent 6 Cashel RFC 12 at half time but the Tipperary side pulled clear after the break.
Sean Monaghan scored the only Old Crescent try which Jeff Williams converted. He also kicked two penalties.
In Division 2B, UL Bohemian remain in the promotion hunt and moved up to second place after their 31-20 away win at Skerries.
Evan Lacey scored two tries for Bohs and Darragh O’Gorman, Greg Fitzgerald and Paul Clancy got one each.
Cian Casey kicked three conversions.
In Division 2C, Thomond are chasing promotion.
They remain in third place after their 17-10 home win over Ballyclare.
Evan Cusack and Jake Connolly scored tries in Liam Fitzgerald Park and Cusack converted both and also added a penalty.
In the same division, Bruff suffered a 36-24 away defeat to Monkstown.
John Bateman scored two tries for Bruff and Clem McAuliffe and Mike Frawley got one each.
