TONY Noonan’s Christmas lights display in Templeglantine has once again captured the spirit of the season — this year raising a record-breaking figure for local and national charities.
The whopping figure of €30,240 was raised for four Mid-West region charities; Limerick Suicide Watch, Milford Care Centre, Slí Eile in Churchtown, Co Cork - Ireland’s only residential mental health service and Recovery Haven Cancer Support House in Co Kerry.
Mr Noonan thanked everyone who supported the charity event this year, saying it was "an amazing amount of money" for the four charities. The cheque presentation was made to the four charities last Thursday at the Longcourt House Hotel in Newcastle West.
He lights up the sky of West Limerick over the Christmas season every year to bring joy to the thousands of visitors at his family home in Tullig North, Templeglantine and has chosen to reopen due to "popular request."

The Limerick man said he was the first person in Ireland to organise a Christmas lights display for charity. Mr Noonan has a special needs daughter who enjoys Christmas lights so he decided to establish the annual festive event.
Mr Noonan marked 25 years lighting up faces in 2024 with his wide array of festive light ornaments.
