Laurel Hill will now face Kildare's St Wolstan’s Community School, of Kildare in the All-Ireland final this Saturday at Johnstown GAA Club Kilkenny with a 1pm throw-in.

With the breeze in the second half the Limerick side pushed ahead from the first whistle at UL on Sunday. Led by Kate Daly, Cait O’Donoghue, Moyra O’Grady and Emma O’Donnell, the Limerick side only conceded one point in the first half.

Laurel Hill's work-rate around  the middle third of the pitch in the first half was impressive with Essie Hickey, Jane McGrath and Claragh Collins playing key roles.

Laurel Hill Secondary School FCJ went in at half time 0-5 to 0-1 ahead after playing into the breeze. Most of their scores came from the stick of Rosie McCaul with noticeable  contributions also from Molly Gardiner and Hannah Murphy.

Joint-Captain Rosie McCaul again was the leading scorer from play and placed balls ably assisted by fellow joint-captain, Sophie O’Grady, who contributed two points in the second half.

Substitute Orlaith Sheehan was introduced for the injured Molly Gardiner in the second half and made a significant contribution with the Na Piarsaigh player scoring 1-2 after her introduction.

The work rate of Milly O’Sullivan and later by May O’Connell in the Laurel Hill Secondary School full forward line proved central to the Limerick side’s scores in the second half, helping to secure their place in the final.

Laurel Hill Secondary School FCJ’s recent achievements also extend off the playing field with former pupils Liz Anna Boylan, Muireann Leahy, Carla Griffin and Oralith Kelleher all being named as joint or vice-captains of the Limerick U-23 and Senior squads respectively for the season ahead.

Laurel Hill Secondary School FCJ also had a strong representation of five players on University of Limerick's winning Purcell Cup squad in recent weeks.
