Disruptech drop in session to take place at Castletroy Park Hotel

COMPANIES and research organisations across the region will this week have the chance to compete for a share in €40m.

Castletroy Park Hotel will this Thursday play host to a free event to provide firms with information on a new Government-backed innovation fund.

Disruptech, it is a large Government grant fund for high-risk, game-changing technology projects.

Between 8.30am and 4pm in the hotel, a ‘DisrupTech on Tour’ event will happen.

It’s designed to help businesses and research organisations understand and navigate the application process and connect with potential partners.

Declan McGee of the Disruptech team at Enterprise Ireland, said: “Breakthrough innovation is a team effort. It happens when ambitious companies, world-class researchers and the right funding come together, and DisrupTech on Tour is designed to help make those connections. The event will give companies and researchers an opportunity to meet potential partners, explore collaborative project ideas and get fully up to speed on the fund before the call for applications opens.”

Since 2018, through the Department of Enterprise, Tourism and Employment, more than €530m in funding has been approved for over 130 collaborative projects involving almost 500 organisations.

The fund is open to Enterprise Ireland, IDA Ireland and Údarás na Gaeltachta client companies, as well as research-performing organisations.

To apply, organisations must work together in a consortium of at least three independent partners, including at least two companies (one of which must be an SME), and seek a minimum of €1.5 million in funding over three years.

Applications will close on February 3, 2027.

Attendees at Thursday's event will receive an overview of the funding available, guidance on eligibility criteria and the application process, lessons learned directly from previous participants and opportunities to connect with project partners through a dedicated collaboration hub.

The day will also feature a visit to the Digital Manufacturing Ireland research facility at the National Technology Park in Plasey.
