Speaking at the sod turning, Ray O’Driscoll, The Shannon Airport Group Interim CEO said: "We are proud of our record in delivering high-quality commercial property space that meets the needs of modern businesses."

"This latest development is another step in driving economic growth for the region. By attracting new companies and creating opportunities for people to live, work, and spend locally, we are generating a positive impact that extends far beyond the business park itself."

As Shannon Airport Business Park approaches full occupancy, the new development reflects the ongoing demand for industrial and commercial space in the region, with completion expected in early 2027.

The project will see the construction of two industrial units with a combined gross floor space of approximately 100,000 sq. ft.

Unit One will measure around 35,000 sq. ft. and is designed with the flexibility to be subdivided into two individual units, while the second unit will be approximately 65,000 sq. ft. which will be able to be subdivided into three individual units.

The new development will have 180 on site car parking spaces with designated EV charging locations.

The new buildings are designed to accommodate a wide range of sectors from med-tech and life sciences to research and development and light manufacturing.

Commenting on the Group’s investment record, Mr. O’Driscoll said: Since our establishment in 2014, we have demonstrated an unwavering commitment to driving economic development in the region."

"This commitment is evident in the fact that, over the period from 2014 through the end of 2025, we will have invested a total of €200 million across our airport and commercial property businesses as part of our long-term development strategy.”

Sustainability is central to the new Blocks Y & Z, which will incorporate advanced energy-efficiency measures, low-carbon materials, solar PV panels, rainwater harvesting, and biodiverse landscaping.

Both units will be NZEB compliant and EU Taxonomy aligned, exceeding current sustainability standards.

Designed for flexibility the buildings are feature high-bay areas with 8.5-metre clear height and optional mezzanine floors for additional office or production space.

The development is part of Shannon Airport Business Park, Ireland’s largest multi-sector business park outside Dublin, spanning over 600 acres and supporting more than 300 companies and 10,000 employees.

Its proximity to Shannon Airport and major transport routes makes it an ideal location for a wide range of sectors, helping drive growth and investment across the Mid-West region.
