A new branch of Moxy Hotels has opened in Belfast

A NEW hotel has been opened by the group which operates Limerick Strand.

Hotel chain Moxy has opened a new outlet in Belfast.

Located in Clarence Street West, it’s the first hotel under the brand to open in the Lagan-side city.

Moxy Hotels, the playful experiential hotel brand, is part of Marriott Bonvoy’s portfolio of 31 brands.

MHL Hotel Collection purchased the property in September 2024, and following an investment of €9.2m it has been completely redesigned and remodelled as a fresh new addition to the neighbourhood.

It’s the 100th Moxy Hotel to open in the Europe, Middle East and Africa region.

John Lally, partner at MHL Hotel Collection said: “This is a very special moment for the entire team in MHL Hotel Collection as we have added our 14th hotel to the collection. We are looking forward to welcoming local, international and especially guests from the west of Ireland to Belfast City to experience our newly launched hotel.”

Gemma Connor, general manager, Moxy Belfast City added: “I am so immensely proud of the team working here. Over the last number of months, we have been preparing for today. It is with enormous pride that we open the doors and unveil our brand-new hotel.”

As a result of the opening, 40 jobs have been created.

And Ms Connor says there are still more recruits to come in.

There are 179 rooms with single, double, twin, triple and family room options available.
