As part of the transition, Ronan Rooney, the previous owner and director of Rooney Auctioneers Galway, will remain involved in a consultancy capacity bringing nearly 30 years of experience in the real estate sector.
Over the course of his career, Ronan has specialised in rent reviews, arbitrations, and Compulsory Purchase Orders.
“We are thrilled to bring Rooney Auctioneers Galway into the fold,” said Gordon Kearney, the managing director of Rooney Auctioneers in Limerick.
“This acquisition represents an exciting opportunity to extend and expand our trusted services to the Galway region, building on our reputation for excellence and client satisfaction.”
Well-known local auctioneer Mr Kearney now becomes managing director of Rooney Auctioneers in both Limerick and Galway.
He said the acquisition aligns perfectly with his firm’s footpaint to expand its footprint in Ireland.
“The Rooney Auctioneers team looks forward to continuing its legacy of professionalism, expertise and local market knowledge in Limerick, Galway, Clare, Tipperary and north Kerry providing tailored property solutions to meet the unique needs of the region,” he added.
Rooney Auctioneers was founded in Limerick in 1970 by Pat Kearney, who like his son Gordon, also served as president of Limerick Chamber.
