ALERT: Delays expected as Limerick motorway is closed following early-morning collision

Motorists are being warned a section of the M20 is closed as emergency services deal with incident

MOTORISTS are being advised to expect delays due to the full closure of one of the busiest roads in Limerick following an early-morning collision.

Transport Infrastructure Ireland says the southbound carriageway of the M20 motorway has been closed, between Junction 4 (Patrickswell/Limerick Racecourse) and Junction 5 (Cork/Croom) as emergency services deal with the incident.

It's understood the collision occurred shortly after 7am.

Initially, only the hard shoulder and lane 1 were closed but the incident has since been upgraded and motorists are now being advised a full closure is now in place.
