Motorway closed in Limerick after five car pile-up

Part of the M7 has been closed following the incident

PART of the M7 motorway has been closed following a five-car collision.

Emergency services are at the scene of the incident between junction 28 and 29 westbound on the Limerick link.

They were sent just after 5.30pm this evening and remain on the scene.

Five fire appliances have been dispatched to the scene - four from Limerick Fire Station at Mulgrave Street in the centre, the other from Cappamore.

The section of road has been closed off as a result and is likely to remain so for a significant period of time, Limerick Live understands.

Ambulance service paramedics are at the scene but it's understood there are no serious injuries.
