Two Limerick sides set to compete in Domino's Division One Play-Off Finals

TWO Limerick sides will be competing in Domino's Division One Play-Off Final action in a fortnight's time following impressive semi-final performances last weekend.

In Domino's Women's Division One action, the Limerick Celtics got the better of county rivals, the Limerick Sport Huskies at Crescent College on Saturday night.

Jordan Hehir's charges ran out 82-70 winners in what was an enthralling Limerick derby.

The defeat for the Huskies brings the curtain down on what has been a successful season for Patrick O'Regan's side.

As well as their excellent regular season from, the Huskies added silverware to their trophy cabinet when they claimed the Division One National Cup crown in January.

The Huskies defeated the Cleveland Rockets 73-65 at the National Basketball Arena in January.

The Celtic's reward for their semi-final victory is a Division One Playoff Final against the Cleveland Rockets, who the Huskies defeated in that final, at the National Basketball Arena on Saturday, April 11 at 5.45pm.

The Rockets secured a safe passage to this year's final following a a hard fought 67-61 win over Dublin's Templeogue.

In Domino’s Men’s Division One action, the Limerick Sport Eagles progressed to this year's final following an 88-64 win over Drogheda Wolves.

This semi-final clash was a repeat of this year's National Cup final which the Eagles won in January on a scoreline of 83-67.

Awaiting the Eagles in the final will be Titans BC after they comprehensively defeated Maree on a scoreline of 80-55.

The final will be played in the National Basketball Arena on Saturday, April 11 at 8.15pm.
