From the pitch to parenthood: Limerick-based rugby star celebrates arrival of first child

Munster rugby player Tadhg Beirne and his wife Harriet have announced the birth of their first child

MUNSTER and Ireland rugby player Tadhg Beirne is celebrating a new milestone off the pitch having welcomed his first child with wife Harriet.

The couple who live in Limerick announced the birth of their daughter on Instagram, revealing her name is Penelope Robyn Beirne.

They shared a first look at their newborn in a beautiful black and white photo of the two of them holding Penelope's little hand.

Many famous faces rushed to congratulate the new parents including recently married Louise Cooney who said: "Awh huge congrats Harriet."

Joanna Cooper – wife of Conor Murray who gave birth to their first baby last October also offered well wishes commenting "Angel" under the couple's Instagram post.

Tadhg and Harriet who wed in 2022 at Kilkea Castle announced that they were expecting a baby last August.

Prior to welcoming their new arrival, Harriet had been posting lots of photos of the couple, as well as informing her followers about her baby prep, including decorating the nursery.
