KING John's Castle has been revealed as the most Instagrammed location in Limerick, according to new research.
The study, carried out by Virgin Media Ireland, analysed the number of tagged Instagram posts across the county’s most visited sights and attractions. The analysis used the total number of posts to determine the destinations that are most popular with social-media-sharing visitors.
King John's Castle claimed the number one spot with 16,821 tagged Instagram posts, securing its position as the county’s most photographed landmark.
Known for its rich history and stunning architecture, the attraction continues to draw visitors eager to capture the perfect photo.

Other spots analysed included Lough Gur, with 8,608 posts, while Thomond Park secured third place thanks to 7,676 posts. Following that was Adare Village (4,018 posts) and St Mary's Cathedral (349 posts), both long-standing favourites with tourists and locals alike.
Virgin Media Ireland commented on the research:
