Lorraine, Trish, Stephan, Sinead, Siobhán and Evan at last year’s festival
KILMEEDY village will “come alive” this weekend as the Full Moon Rising Festival returns with two days of music, family fun, and community celebration.
The festival begins on Friday, September 12 at 6pm with a special Kid’s Night.
Families can expect a “fun-filled programme” including games, treats, a UV disco and the School of Rock junior talent showcase.
The main event takes place on Saturday, September 13 with music starting at 5.30pm across two stages with 10 live acts spanning a variety of styles.
This year’s headliner is Gearoid McCarthy, backed by Big Generator, HighTide, Clio, Sean Killeen, and more.
“Full Moon Rising is also about giving back,” a spokesperson for the festival said.
The festival’s Community Partner Give-Back Scheme donates €5 from every ticket sold through a group’s dedicated link.
This initiative directly supports neighbouring communities and local organisations, helping to spread the benefits of the festival far beyond the weekend itself.

Festival organiser Niall O’Callaghan said: “Full Moon Rising is about more than just music - it’s about creating a space where the community can come together, celebrate, and support one another.”
To keep festivalgoers fuelled, the site will host three bars, including cocktails, along with four diverse food vendors.
Options range from Roots Café’s taco-style street food to authentic Indian cuisine and classic burgers — ensuring something for every taste.
Camping is available on site for those who want the full weekend experience. Campervan spaces are already sold out, but a limited number of tent pitches remain, and early booking is "strongly recommended".
