Viewers of the hugely popular Tommy Tiernan show on RTÉ were left perplexed when the soft spoken, sharply dressed British boxing legend, Chris Eubank Snr, sat down with the Irishman and discussed spirituality, and ego among other topics but left some viewers thinking the chemistry between the two was off.

Tommy started the interview by thanking Chris for the "peaceful feeling" that he carries around with him, but no more than two minutes later it left the former WBO Middleweight Champion if they could "start again".

It got a little bit spikey between the two when Tommy mentions he sees some "ego" in Eubank which Eubank felt he needed some clarification on:

"Have I in some said I'm better than you?" Chris asked Tommy.

He goes on to explain with the format of the show if he had an ego why would he have made an appearance?

"Your team asked me to come and see you. They told me the format of the show. If my ego was still in play, I wouldn't have come. I am the king. I've earned my position, it isn't honorary, it is earned. You are the star. Yet I'm here."

Comments under the clip of the two talking about ego on social media read:

"This was more intense than the carry-on in the White House and that takes some doing"

Another reads:

"One of the most awkward interviews I’ve ever watched. Fair play Tommy" and "Well done Tommy for holding it together. That was a nutty interview. What did Eubank actually say?!?"

Not all the comments are as one sided with another social media user writing:

"Chris Eubank is very humble but educated he is not to be feared but respected. Christopher is an individual like everyone else respect"

It is kind of a shame the interview went in this direction as a fan of both, you can imagine the two having a very interesting conversation, but in a way that is the nature of the programme.
