A DELEGATION from the American city of Savannah will be in Limerick next week to formally set up a friendship link.
The Mayor of Savannah in the state of Georgia, Van Johnson will touch down on Monday, February 17, and will meet Limerick’s first citizen John Moran.
The pair are expected to sign a “declaration of friendship”.
This will “confirm and strengthen the established bonds of friendship between Limerick and Savannah and to affirm a mutual aspiration to work together in unison for the benefit of both”.

Councillors approved the friendship agreement at the January local authority meeting.
The agreement will see the administrations of Savannah and Limerick work together “to examine issues of common interest and to look for areas of co-operation”.
Councillors have in the past taken part in the Savannah St Patrick’s Day parade, the second largest in the world after New York’s.
