THE FIRST ever Dancing with the Stars to be held on St Patrick’s Day will undoubtedly see a flavour of green fever and, an impressive track record of alumni returning to our screens.
The grand finale of this year's popular RTÉ celebrity dance competition will take place this Sunday, March 17 from 6:30pm on RTÉ One.
Past competitors such as Irish comedian Bernard O’Shea, sports broadcaster Marty Morrisey, and 2fm presenter Lottie Ryan, Glitterball champion from series four, are all set to return to our TV screens.
Also returning to the show are TV and social media star, makeup mogul Suzanne Jackson,
TV and radio presenter Brian Dowling, Paralympian Ellen Keane and Fair City actor Ryan Andrews.
A dazzling performance from Riverdance is on the cards too, while this year’s four finalist couples will open the show with a group dance to Feels This Good by Sigala.
The finalists will then each perform two dances. The first will be judges’ choice, where they will reenact a dance from this season which most impressed the judges.
The second is set to be a show dance, giving each pair a final chance to influence the public vote.

Season seven of Dancing with the Stars continues to be popular with Irish audiences, with almost half a million (478,000 people) tuning in to the Sunday night show every week.
Finalist Jason Smyth, a Paralympic runner with only 10% vision, has broken boundaries within the show and has become an accomplished dancer despite all odds.
Another progressive step taken in the 2024 series was the inclusion of drag performer Blu Hydrangea, the show's first non-binary contestant, who has also danced their way to the final.
Other finalists competing this St Patrick’s Day include Ireland’s Fittest Family presenter Laura Fox with her dance partner Denys Samson, as well as Wild Youth band member David Whelan with his professional partner, Salome Chachua.
To conclude the 2024 finale, all the couples from this year’s season will perform in a final group dance to renewed popular hit Murder on the Dancefloor by Sophie Ellis-Bextor.
