Hot on the heels of Charlie's Bar in Enniskillen, JJ Houghs pub in Banagher, Co Offaly, has released its 8th annual Christmas advert.

The heartwarming tale of an Offaly postman's missing bag of Christmas presents from the 1980s charts one man's journey to Christmas past.

The clip takes proprietor Ger Hough from behind the bar in Banagher to the GPO to steal the bag back and distribute the gifts around the local area.

Some bring joy to recipients 40 years on, including a family hooked on screens briefly engaging with eachother in a game of Monopoly before descending into a fight.

The ad ends with Ger's character finding his own gift from the 80s from his late father, a children's postman outfit, which he puts on his own son to play in.

Speaking about the ad, Ger Hough says: "Within it we touch on themes of transience and the passing of time, learning to appreciate those around you and the simpler things in life.

"Happy Christmas everyone, we hope you enjoy. Thanks to everyone for their time in helping out."

The advert was shot and edited by Alan Rogers with music again by Ultan Conlon and the final poignant quote by Claire Cook.
