Memories – 20 years – Tributes to the late Louis Fine

Death

LOUIS Fine, the well know Limerick jeweller, who died at Milford Hospice yesterday – May 7 – was a former president of Limerick Chamber of Commerce.

He was also a former president of Castletroy Golf Club and a director of the Trustee Savings Bank.

He is survived by his wife, Doreen; sons Michael and David and daughters Caroline and Rosemary; and relatives.

Louis Fine, who served with the Defence Forces during the Emergency, being a member of Maritime Inscription, the wartime naval reserve, was widely known through the city and a wider radius.

He was involved in many of the major issues affecting the Limerick region, including the Shannon overflight controversy during his presidency of the Limerick Chamber of Commerce in 1961-62. Funeral details later.
