Memories – 40 years - Criticism of city bus service fares


SPEAKING at this week’s meeting of Ballynanty Residents and Development Association, Mr John Quinn, chairman called on C.I.E. to revise the method which they at present use in order to calculate the bus fares on city services.

Most of our city services, he said, have the last stop or destination in one or other of the large working class districts of the city. “We in Ballynanty are in the situation that you pay a fare of 12p to travel from Henry Street to Ballynanty, yet you can travel as far as Mayorstone park for 8p, he complained.
