THE search for the first Street Ambassadors in the Republic of Ireland starts this week.
Street Ambassadors have been very successful in the UK and the US in promoting cities to tourists and building up civic pride.
And Limerick is set to become the first city in the Republic of Ireland to employ eight Street Ambassadors this summer to give tourists a warm welcome and reliable information on the city.
The Limerick Co-ordination Office is spearheading the introduction of the first Street Ambassador programme into the Republic of Ireland.
Limerick Co-ordination Office City Centre Co-ordinator Andrew Mawhinney said: “We believe Street Ambassadors will provide tourists and local people with a valuable service for the summer and give the city a great boost for the season.”
