Funeral details announced for University of Limerick student

A MAN who died following a medical emergency in the city centre will be remembered at his funeral later this week.

Brendan T. O’Regan, a recent graduate of environmental science at University of Limerick (UL), and a current Masters student, passed away on Saturday evening.

A Caherconlish man, he worked at the Locke, with the business in the city centre closing on Sunday as a mark of respect.

Tributes have been paid on www.rip.ie.

One person wrote about how “heartbroken” they were to hear of the passing of Brendan.

“An incredible person taken far too soon,” they added.

“It was a pleasure to get to know Brendan during our days in UL. He will be greatly missed by all,” another person wrote.

“His joyful bubbly character will live on forever in our hearts,” read one tribute.

One of Brendan’s colleagues added: “Rest in peace Brendan, he was such a kind-hearted, hardworking and funny person who always brought a smile to everyone around him and I feel very lucky to have worked alongside him and he will be greatly missed.”

Masters student Brendan is the beloved son of his father, also Brendan.

A dearly loved brother of Sherry, he is sadly missed by his aunts, uncles, Sherry’s partner Diarmaid, his beloved girlfriend Katie, cousins, his beloved German Shepherd and “best friend” George, plus extended family and friends.

He will repose at Thompson’s Funeral Home on Thursday, September 24, from 5.30pm to 7pm.

His funeral will arrive to Our Lady Help of Christians Church at Milford Road in Castletroy on Friday, September 25.

A private cremation will follow.

May he rest in peace.
