Learning Hub Limerick able to bank on support from AIB

Kileely centre receive boost from high street bank
STAFF at a learning centre on the northside which helps disadvantaged children reach their potential are celebrating after securing €26,000 funding.
Learning Hub Limerick, based in Kileely, has secured the money from AIB, which shared out €1m in community initiatives across the country.
The cash was granted following a public vote, and will help the charity continue its work across the city.
James Blake, the chief executive of Learning Hub Limerick said: “This means so much to our charity because it came from the community around us. Every nomination is a reminder that people see the work being done here every day by our staff, volunteers, supporters and the people who use our services.”
He added the grant will help ensure the children, young people and families continue to “enjoy the highest standard of service in a safe and welcoming environment.”
"We are very grateful to everyone who took the time to nominate us, and to AIB for creating a fund that recognises the role local charities play in keeping communities connected, supported and strong. The educational supports that we provide to the children, both in DEIS school supports and after-school provision, will all be boosted by this support from AIB. We provide a nurturing, welcoming environment where children can be themselves, learn at their own pace and develop a love of learning that will stand them in great stead for the rest of their lives. AIB has helped us to continue to provide this service and everyone at Learning Hub Limerick is so thankful,” Mr Blake added.
As a result of the funding, Learning Hub Limerick will be featured on AIB’s mobile app, where customers will be able to make direct donations.
AIB’s managing director of retail banking Geraldine Casey said: “Every community has organisations that quietly make a huge difference to people's lives.”
