The Arts Grant Funding will support the delivery of artistic activity across various forms throughout 2027

SEVEN Limerick recipients have been awarded over €450,000 under the Arts Grant Funding scheme.

On Thursday, the Arts Council announced that 220 applicants were successful and would receive funding for their work, representing an investment of €17.2 million in arts organisations and individual artists across the country.

In Limerick, a total of €455,675 was secured by six organisations and one poet across the city and county.

Ormston House was awarded €224,000 through the scheme, along with Askeaton Contemporary Arts CLG, who received €77,000.

The Limerick Theatre And Performance Hub were granted €75,000 and €30,000 was also awarded to the Light Moves Festival of Screendance.

The Limerick Jazz Society received €25,000 while Sans. Press secured €20,000. The final successful applicant in the county was poet D'or Seifer, whose funding comes in at €4,675.

The Arts Grant Funding supports organisations and individuals to carry out multiple activities over a fixed period. In doing so, it builds and reinforces the national network of support for artists and audiences, complementing other Arts Council funding schemes that are open to either organisations or artists.

The awards announced underscore both arts activities for the public to engage with and artist supports, as part of the Arts Council’s ongoing work to cultivate a thriving and sustainable arts sector in Ireland.

The Arts Grant Funding will support the delivery of artistic activity across various forms throughout 2027.

Minister for Culture, Communications and Sport, Patrick O’Donovan said: “Congratulations to the 220 recipients of this year’s Arts Grant Funding. This significant investment in artists and arts audiences demonstrates the State’s continuing commitment to supporting and uplifting Ireland’s robust creative culture. It ensures the ongoing development of the arts in communities and localities across the country.”

Chair of the Arts Council, Maura McGrath, also commented: "The reach of the Arts Council extends nationwide. As one of the Arts Council’s key funding schemes, Arts Grant Funding supports the activities of artists and organisations across the country. It contributes to a vibrant artistic ecosystem, ensuring artist development and supporting places for showing and creating art, while connecting communities, schools, arts centres and local authorities. We are proud to support this year’s recipients and look forward to the impact of their work.”
