The incident happened within seconds of the concert starting

A suspected medical emergency has halted a major concert - seconds after it started at King John’s Castle in Limerick city.

Thousands of people had flocked to the venue on Friday night for the ‘Live at the Castle’ gig which was due to kick-start the Bank Holiday weekend festivities.

While details of the incident remain unclear, Limerick Live understands the performance was abruptly halted - seconds after The Coronas took to the stage.

According to several people who are in attendance, an individual on the stage appears to have received immediate medical attention.

While concert-goers have been thanked for their patience, there has been no announcement as to whether the concert will resume.
