To celebrate 40 years of magic, The Limerick Panto Society are hosting an anniversary ball to honour decades of local talent, dedication and community spirit.

Members, past performers, supporters and friends are invited to mark the occasion at the Limerick Strand Hotel this Saturday, October, 17.

The occasion will celebrate 40 years of entertainment, community spirit and an “extraordinary contribution” to local amateur theatre, while recognising the many individuals whose dedication and talent have helped shape the society into what it is today.

Over the past 40 years, Limerick Panto Society has showcased an exceptional array of Limerick-based talent, providing a platform for performers, singers, dancers, musicians and creative individuals to shine.

Reflecting on the milestone, founding member Tony Cusack said: “We are incredibly proud of how far Limerick Panto Society has come over the past 40 years.

“To have spent four decades bringing magic to life on stage in Limerick, while showcasing the extraordinary wealth of local talent our city has to offer, is something truly special.

“None of this would have been possible without the dedication of our performers, volunteers, committee members and the audiences who have supported us throughout the years.”

Chairperson of the society, Grainne McCarthy has said: “I am extremely grateful to everyone who has supported the society over the past 40 years, whether by giving their time, buying tickets or supporting our productions in any way.

“None of this would be possible without the dedication, commitment and drive of our committee and members, who have worked tirelessly over the years to keep the society alive and thriving.

“Reaching our 40th anniversary is a wonderful milestone, and it is a testament to everyone who has played a part in our journey.”

An important part of Limerick Panto Society’s annual tradition is its continued commitment to supporting local charities.

As the society celebrates 40 years of pantomime in Limerick, this ongoing commitment reflects the values at the heart of the organisation: “bringing people together, supporting the local community and ensuring that the impact of its productions extends beyond the stage.”

Guests are invited to mark this milestone at the Strand Hotel on Saturday, October 17, at 6.30pm.

As the celebrations continue, the society is already looking ahead to its milestone 40th production, Alice in Wonderland, which “promises to bring another helping of colour, comedy, music and pantomime magic to Limerick audiences this Christmas.”

Tickets for Alice in Wonderland are available now at www.limerickpanto.com.
